
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She plays as a striker and captains for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the highest level of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe between 2018 to 2020. Following her graduation earlier from the University of California, Berkeley, where she played for the California Golden Bears, Morgan was chosen as the number one overall pick during the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. Morgan made her debut as a professional there , and was a key player in helping the team win the league championship. Morgan aged 22 at the time was the youngest player of the national team in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, which the team finished second. In the 123rd minute of the semi-final match against Canada during the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal. She was the second player in the United States with 20 goals and 21 assists for 2012, which makes her the youngest and sixth-highest scoring player in the country to score 20 goals in a single year. After being named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year, Morgan was also named a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan helped to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was selected to the Dream Team in both tournaments. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
